For the third time, the “German Sustainability Award 2023” was awarded in the category “Design” during a festive gala in Düsseldorf yesterday. This year, more than 1000 participants had submitted their entries in a total of eight categories for the coveted and most renowned German sustainability award,
Awards were given to outstanding products and solutions that, due to their design and concept, are trend-setting and have a particularly high impact on resource conservation, environmental protection and sustainability.
Grease recovery unit of the latest generation wins

Grease separation is about preventing grease, oil and also food residues from getting into the wastewater and clogging pipes or the sewage system. In Germany, all businesses that produce water containing grease must use a grease separator. The quality of the oil separated by the FiltaFOG Cyclone is so good that it can be further processed into biodiesel and represents an additional source of income for the restaurateur.

With eight competitions, over 1,000 applications and 2,000 guests to the events, the prize is the largest of its kind in Europe. The award is presented by the Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e.V. (German Sustainability Award Foundation) in cooperation with the German Federal Government, municipal umbrella organisations, business associations, civil society organisations and research institutions. The setting for the award ceremony is the German Sustainability Day in Düsseldorf, the most visited annual communication platform on the topics of sustainable development.
